Scary Monsters, Creepy Creatures and Angry Robot Fashion Designs! Weird Faces, demon teeth and uncanny eyeballs from another dimension are taking over the metropolis! Strange humanoids wander the alleyways and telepathic goblins take over you t-shirts while supereroes try to stop mechanical monstrocitiees from destroying the world. Welcome to the city of Gears!!! Since 2002 I have produced a number of limited edition fashion designs including t-shirts, ladies tops, button sets and skateboard helmits. This page features an archive of fashion art created over the years with an emphasis on the monstrous. Flies Holes and Roaches Monster Shirts! The very first HEY APATHY! fashion designs were based on a series of strange creatures I called the Roaches. These weird humanoids had giant burnt out eyes and teeth reminicent of some fading nightmare. I used to do a lot of graffiti art with these chacters because they use a very simple design but are extremely expressive and impactful. These early designs included a limited edition screen print t-shirt as well as a series of one of a kind female tops. These tops were all handmade by local designer a featured cut out fabric and screen printed Roach monsters. Later the creatures reappeared in several incarnations on shirts, buttons, and hats. The fullface Longboard Skateboard Helmit is one of my favorite designs. This image depicts a twisted cityscape made up of bricks, bones, people and monsters. The wrap around design was really fun to work with as I was able to use the helmit as both a detailed canvas and a costume styled mask. The back and sides show chaotic comic book adventures while the front of the helmit depicts a life sized demon-style mouth. It is also interesting to note that this is probably the only desing I ever did as a negative working with white inks on a black surface. This helmit is a great companion piece to the various HEYAPATHY! longboard graphic designs. |
