Creepy Drawings! The city is a giant gear propelled by an infinite spiral of strange denizens! Built upon mother nature and constantly feeding from her womb the Castles of the Metropolis grow taller and outreaching all lands with concrete vascular tentacles. The earth growns in agony as one of the extracting hoses bursts in her breast leaving an open and disastrous wound. Black toxic blood flows out into the seas acidic burning the exterior of it's host. The reparations are quickly determined but haste is put forth until the bankers, scientist, and lawyers can figure out how to profit from the blunder. Depicting a world that is hiding unseen but always right in front us. A strange universe of creatures, skeletons and earthworms moves between visible particles watching, manipulating and laughing at the paper thin existence we call reality. Secret caverns open into the streets, business suits that are actually naked skin, dreams that walk around our skulls like a little planet and mother natures revenge. All these battles continue while, completely unaware, we surf the internet looking at drawings in complete comfort... The Surreal Comics and illustrated stories are created directly in my sketchbook and daily journals using a very simple but not unimportant artist's process. All these weird drawings are made spontaneously without preliminary sketches or predetermined concepts. The objective of this is to freely explore scribbles and symbols in search of innovativions as opposed to choosing a topic and trying to explain it. After finishing the drawings I try to figure out what the images mean and catalogue the descriptions. This improvised approach often leads to peculiar images and narrations which probably wouldn’t exist if I’d taken the time to think about it. |
Half Scientist-half Businessperson hybrids huddle in secret commercial labs re-sculpting humanity from a synthetically sentient globular clay. The artwork is moulded over multiple personifications of thought, fear and desire slowly taking the likeness of a 50 foot tall woman. The team of specialists ponder the shelf life, controllability, and potential markets as greedy tentacles ooze porously from the place were they once had faces. I also thought it would be cool if I made some drawings that looked liked portraits as thumbnails but would reveal secret stories when viewed full screen. |
