“The Sound of the City” is an extremely detailed freehand pen and ink drawing of the monstrous metropolis. The artwork depicts all noisy congestion and excitement of the big city. The various areas and activities collide and combine including the busy stomping of sidewalk shoppers, the blasting music and boasting bargains of the storefronts, honking horns and screeching tire traffic jams, the endless activities in apartments, alleyways, offices and skyscrapers. The entire ordeal is presented as an organic medley of shapes and experiences mixing together to reveal a magnificent form. |

The Manga Monster! A giant globular alien beast rampages through the downtown core smashing it's way through the buildings and stirring up riotous panic in the streets! In a desperate last ditch attempt to stop the chaos a budding young hero pilots an enormous robot battle suit and takes aim at the beast. Focusing all his energy into a single blow, the pilot throws a power packed punch destroying the enemy's face! But will this be enough to save the city as more monsters have arrived at the scene. An enormous ape, a radioactive lizard and a 50 foot evil-doll, can the hero stop them all? |

From a distance the city looks like an ominous gear propelled by an endless sea of faceless denizens. However as one moves in for a closer look the true identity of the metropolis is revealed. Strange faces, robots, monsters, heroes and villains fill the busy streets. From this new vantage the buildings still take the shape of a giant gear but it is all the unique and crazy individuals, not anonymous crowds, that fuel the machine! “Hey Apathy!” is an ongoing artistic investigation into life in the big city and the global ramifications of our commercial culture. I use black and white comic book style imagery to express an optimistic concern towards future days. Through a combination of cartooning, story telling and detailed gallery drawings my goal is to create a unique body of artworks that is simultaneously intellectually provocative and accessible to viewers of all ages.
